Growth factors provide a powerful option towards preventing premature aging, maintaining all the elements of healthy skin. Unlike retinoids (think Retin-A or tretinoin, Tazorac, Retinol), products with these molecules are generally well tolerated by the most sensitive skin types, including rosacea-prone skin. This is because ingredients like growth factors and hyaluronic acid are naturally occurring components of human tissue.

Both Neocutis and Regenica are fragrance-free, pharmaceutical-grade product lines, tested for efficacy and for sensitivities. The formulas are based on epidermal growth factors (EGFs) and anti-oxidants. Micro, by Neocutis, is synthesized to stimulate the 3 types of collagen most commonly lost with age, plus elastin and hyaluronic acid, to strengthen and plump the skin.  Regenica serums and creams contain the highest amount of human fibroblast conditioned media (EGF) on the market, along with a well-formulated blend of anti-oxidants, peptides, and moisturizing factors for optimal skin health. With the Micro line, you get the added benefit of elastin stimulation, and with Regenica, you get more EGFs and anti-oxidants in a paraben-free formula. Some people prefer human-derived fibroblasts to synthetic “micronized” molecules. Just keep in mind that the large molecule size of human-derived EGFs may be absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin via follicles, which could lead to clogged pores in acne-prone skin types. The connection is not backed by data, but that’s likely because the phenomenon has not been researched, so just keep that in mind if you tend towards acne.

Sample skin care routine to revitalize dry/sensitive skin

AM
Cleanse with a micro-fiber mitt (or Avene Gentle Milk or Oil-free Gel Cleanser)
Apply Neocutis Micro-Serum or Regenica Rejuvenating Dual Serum and Micro-Eyes to lids and undereye.
Then Avène Mineral Ultra-Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ (chemical free SPF in a paraben/fragrance-free formula)
PM
Cleanse, as above, then apply one of the following: Neocutis Micro-Night, Regenica Repair Complex, or Regenica Replenishing Cream

Once to twice a week, try a mask like YonKa Excellence Code Masque or Masque No.1 and I MASK Biomolecular Recovery Mask by Image Skincare.

Always patch test any product if you have a history of contact dermatitis and allergies, and follow package directions for application. These product lines are sold in medical offices in the U.S., and samples are often available.
